A popular drinking song in several versions, found all over the English-speaking world from the early 20th century onwards. One version, usually entitled “This Old Hat” was sung in the Royal Navy, accompanied by actions amounting to strip tease, with the performer removing one item of clothing per verse. Another version of this song was popularised among contemporary folk singers as “All for me Grog”.  Mr Green’s version was sung at the end of Sapperton Mummers play.
