Gwilym Davies visited Tony Ballinger and his father at the Brockworth House Club and Institute on 14 April and 15 September 1977 when he sang The Barley Mow, On A Four-Master Warship, The Swapping Song, There Was A Little Man, There Were Three Crows. Tony Ballinger was a friend of Bob Cross also recorded there by Gwilym Davies.

Henry Anthony Ballinger was born in Redmarley D’Abitot on 3 June 1918. His mother’s maiden name was Morris. He married Winifred Russell in 1946 and worked as a machine setter. They settled at 6, Clyde Road, Brockworth and had at least two sons, Stephen Anthony Ballinger born in 1948 and Jonathan born in 1950, a painter and decorator both of whom married.

Henry Anthony Ballinger died in 1996 in the Gloucester registration district.
