Many old singing games have been collected from children in the street or in the school playground. Most of these old games are no longer performed but collectors such as Cecil Sharp recognised their value as living oral history and noted singing games at several locations in Gloucestershire, namely Condicote, Temple Guiting, Stanton, Stow-on-the-Wold and Guiting Power.
