On the face of it, this is the only version of this song to be found although it could well have been coined from another song. The history of the Gloucestershire Regiment goes back to the late 17^th century. In 1994 the regiment amalgamated with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Royal Regiment to form the 1st Battalion, The Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment.
