Children’s singing games have always had an obsession with weddings and funerals, the latter especially popular if the corpse jumps into life again. This delightful game was reported to be very popular all over the UK up to WWI but rarely since. The earliest noted version is from Scotland in 1820 when it was known as “Janet Jo”.
