The full title of the song is “Never Despise Old Age”, a homely ditty which is actually quite rare. One 19^th century broadside of the song exists and it was also printed in “The Albion Songster”, and in “The Champion Comic’s New Song Book” but Mr Halliday’s version appears to be the only one collected in oral tradition.
