This is a rare song and has only been collected a few times.  The text appeared as a poem in The Bell News and Ringers Record – Christmas Supplement in 1888.  Bob Arnold of Burfold, Oxfordshire, had a version which he learnt from a singer in Ducklington and that is the only version to have been found with a tune.
