Shrove Tuesday is of course is a day in February or March preceding Ash Wednesday (the first day of Lent) and commonly known as ‘Pancake Day’.   Celebration of Shrove Tuesday goes back many hundreds of years and the origin of making pancakes on that day is lost in time.  This charming children’s game has many variants.
