Kennett, Andrew

Andrew Kennett was born in Dursley in 1944 and died in 2015.

He was a schoolteacher in several schools in the area and took up the headship at Horsley Primary before moving to Bussage Primary School.  During his teaching career, he was an inspiration to his pupils on local folklore and songs.

In the early 70s, he and fellow collector Richard Chidlaw set about researching local wassail songs, finding several that had never been collected before and making recordings.
