Yates, Mike

Mike is one of England’s most important folk song collectors after Cecil Sharp and Peter Kennedy.  He has made a multitude of high quality recordings of British source singers, particularly gypsies, and has also made important recordings of singers in the Appalachian mountains.  Many of his recordings have appeared on Topic Records releases.  Mike has kindly allowed this project to use his Gloucestershire recordings.
